Anglo-Indian seniors queuing for pensions

Help us help other needy Anglo-Indians in India

Established in 1999, the sole purpose of CTR is to help the indigent Anglo-Indian in India.

To this end, CTR has two major thrusts:

  • Providing pensions to seniors
as of Dec 2008, 301 seniors were being given a monthly pension - 151 in Kolkata, 100 in Chennai, 30 in Bangalore and 15 in Vijayawada.

From 2009 pensions were increased from Rs.5,400 to Rs.6,000 per year plus a Rs.1,200 rations supplement added for all.
  • Educating children
as of Dec 2008, 211 children were being educated - 40 boarders and 60 day scholars in Kolkata, 15 boarders and 42 day scholars in Chenna, 35 day scholars in Hyderabad and 19 day scholars in Vijayawada.

2008 saw an increase in the numbers being helped. The following table will give you an idea of the increase over the preceeding years:

donation statistics

Of all the money collected, 99% goes to the causes we support. This is an unprecendented figure for a public charity.

CTR also publishes books on Anglo-Indian culture. The gross proceeds of all sales go to the charity. So far, three books have been published and a fourth is in the process of being edited.

Information about all CTR's activities can be found by following the various links on this website.

CTR is making a difference and invites all to help.

Finally, let me leave you with this quotation from James 2 Chaps 14-16:

quotes on My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don't have enough to eat. What good is there in you saying to them, "God Bless you! Keep warm and eat well!", if you don't give them the necessities of life? So it is with faith: If it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead. quotes off
