In 2003 CTR continued to grow in its fifth year of existence. Here are the details:

Senior Pension Project:
We had 130 seniors in Calcutta, 60 in Madras and20 in Bangalore.

Loreto Entally:
We now sponsor 20 girls as boarders.

Bow Bazaar:
Our education program to help 55 young day scholars continues.

Chennai (Madras):
We are helping to educate 20 young day scholars.

We started a program to educate 10 young day scholars.

Here is what we sent our administrators to maintain the above projects (in $CA, $US and/or Pounds):

Ms Philo Eaton of CAISS - (for Tiljallah senior pensions)
Rs 358,451
Ms Philo Eaton of CAISS - (for Love of God - Hamilton TF seniors)
Rs 219,250
Ms Rachael Thurley of Madras AIC - (for senior pensions)
Rs 180,000
Mrs Sylvie Bosen of Bangalore - (for senior pensions)
Rs 113,125
Sister Joan of Loreto, Entally - (for convent boarders)
Rs 132,000
Mrs Clarice Eling, Madras - (for children’s education)
Rs 66,500
Mr Ron Thomas of Bow Bazaar - (for children’s education)
Rs 85,700
Mrs Roseann Besterwitch, Hyderabad - (for children’s education)
Rs 24,000
Rs 1,179,026

This compares to a disbursement of Rs 527,592 in 2001 and Rs 659,751 in 2002).

In any currency this is a substantial effort.

Many persons have cared enough to put in a lot of work in raising funds. A very generous donation from Mr Neil D Hamilton of Paris, helped to initiate the "For Love of God - Hamilton Trust Fund" covering Seniors in Howrah and surrounding areas. We have a good effort in the UK and Australia and an excellent effort in Canada. In November Canada (Toronto) organized the fifth Tiljallah Relief Dinner Dance that resulted in a contribution of over $5,000CA. In addition many Canadian and US AI’s sponsor Loreto girls and Bow Bazaar children. In the US we raised over $20,000 from non-AI’s and AI’s. As we increase our commitments we need to develop more funding avenues.
