Anglo-Indian seniors queuing for pensions

Help us help other needy Anglo-Indians in India

Established in 1999, the sole purpose of CTR is to help the indigent Anglo-Indian in India.

To this end, CTR has two major thrusts:

  • Providing pensions to seniors
  • As of Dec 2011, 305 seniors were being given a monthly pension - 150 in Kolkata, 105 in Chennai, 35 in Bangalore and 16 in Vijayawada. From 2010 pensions were increased from Rs.6,000 to Rs.7,200 per year plus a Rs.1,200 rations supplement added for all.
  • Educating children
As of Dec 2010, 253 children were being educated - 65 boarders and 70 day scholars in Kolkata, 22 boarders and 41 day scholars in Chennai, 30 day scholars in Hyderabad and 25 day scholars in Vijayawada.

2011 saw us increase the amount we sent to India from 66,200 USD to 71,540 USD.
2012 saw us send India over 2.4 lakhs (around USD 68,680).

Finally, let me leave you with this quotation from James 2 Chaps 14-16:

quotes on My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don't have enough to eat. What good is there in you saying to them, "God Bless you! Keep warm and eat well!", if you don't give them the necessities of life? So it is with faith: If it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead. quotes off
